BasePlate FAQ
A pair of BasePlates comes standard with each pair of the ShoePlate Pro QuickRelease. This allows you to use the ShoePlate on one foot stretcher. For clubs and teams that have more seats than individual athletes or for athletes with more than one boat, extra BasePlates allow each foot stretcher to accept the ShoePlate.
Fitment of the BasePlates is covered in the QuickRelease System fitment guide video or you can download the QuickRelease System Fitment Guide which covers this.
The BasePlates and ShoePlate Pro QuickRelease have been created with a revolutionary and patented design that allows both parts to be made from the one material – so unlike a bike cleat that has a metal part working on a plastic or other part, there is no friction of one material wearing the other down. The entire system is designed specifically for rowing and is used as standard fitment by boat builders, as such it is very robust.
